Salvation

What is Salvation and what does it mean to you?

The word Salvation comes from the word Salvage. This word is usually associated with shipping when recovering a ship wreck. In this case the wreck was me remember Amazing Grace!

The origin of the word is salve: a soothing ointment. In the case of our relationship with God, it is the applying of the Blood and the Holy Spirit (the anointing (power) and presence of God) as His children.

How did Salvation come about?

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth on the 6th day He created man. God being Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient knew that man would fall and he had created a solution.

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning the first day.

The solution was Jesus. 2nd Samuel 14:14 Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from him.

The old testament is the Hidden Jesus Christ. It is important to note the Hebrew names: The name Joshua is Yehoshua means “Yahweh saves. The Old Testament revelation of Jesus and the Holy Spirit walking his bride into the Promised Land. Jesus’ name in Hebrew is Yeshua which means Salvation. In the Old Testament Yahweh was continually saving, as the Israelites had to constantly sacrifice. Hebrews 7:27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

In the New Testament Yeshua completely saves. Yahweh means Jehovah the Covenant keeping God. I have always wondered if the angel Gabriel told Mary to name her son Jesus or Yeshua as the New Testament books were written by 4 wonderful Hebrew boys. Jesus is the Greek name spelt “Ieous”.

For many years I assumed that the light was the sun and the moon but through Study the moon and sun were created on the 4th day Genesis 1:14, Romans 3:23 and Malachi 4:5. So who or what was this light? The Word Jesus is hidden in the Old Testament but through study from the Holy Spirit you get a revelation of Jesus as the solution to the curse that was put on the serpent. From Genesis to Malachi Christ is hidden.

The chaos came about after satan and 1/3 of the angels of Heaven were thrown out when they tried to revolt and exalt themselves above God. Thus there was a darkness and chaos. This is the beginning of the revelation of Jesus the Glory of God. The entrance of Jesus separates the darkness.

2nd Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

God knew that Adam would sin and therefore when He had to command Adam and Eve, He established the blood covenant by the killing of two animals. It is important to note Covenants are initiated by God. The first bloodshed in the bible was the two animals that were killed and their skin that was covered by blood covered Adam and Eve.

What was the original sin?

It was Adam not taking responsibility for Eve’s action for trying to be like God. The first sin by Eve involved thinking (reasoning what Satan suggested), looking at the tree – lust, and acting on her thoughts. These are the same three tests Jesus passed in the wilderness. Alas that has been the problem for mankind and the loss of the authority and position of the head has affected the whole race. But through Jesus this is restored.

It is pertinent to meditate on this and review in your own life how many times how we end up in sin in this order.

In Genesis God – the triune Elohim made a decision to make man and save man. Their action to save man was based on love. John 3:16 God gave his only son so Jesus disrobed himself from being the Word and became flesh John 1:1

Colossians 1:15 The Supremacy of the Son of God
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

On the cross, Jesus having fulfilled his Father’s will reconciled the whole world back to the Father as referenced in Malachi 1:5. Being human and the only part of creation that was given choice He invites you to enter a relationship with Him by choice. John 1:12

Jesus being of a virgin birth came in without sin making him the perfect sacrifice. Had Mary consummated her marriage then the virgin canal would have been tainted as everyone born after Adam was born by sin: Romans 5:12 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned

So where do you fit in

Based on John 1:12 and Romans 10:9 by acknowledging that you are a sinner, that Jesus is the Son of God, He died and resurrected. Once we declare this we are adopted into the original family and with the infilling of the Holy Spirit and restored back to Eden (Hebrew a spot of God’s presence).

The Old Testament is a shadow of the revelation of Jesus and the Redemption of mankind. Throughout the Bible Jesus went around doing good things, healing the sick, raising the dead etc and helped people. Jesus did not come to create a religion called Christianity or denomination He came to create a Kingdom – a community of believers that would enhance the principles of God, led by the Holy Spirit.

Being a Christian means you become an imitator of Christ in action. God never takes away your personality as He created you that way to infect and affect on behalf of the Kingdom. The disciples actually got born again in John 20:22 when they received the Holy Spirit before that He the Redeemer was with them then in them. Salvation could not happen until Jesus had resurrected.

Once you received Jesus your restoration to Eden means

    1. You are in God’’s presence all the time
    2. You are aware of your relationship with God
    3. Your work in God’’s garden
    4. You improve with the Help of the Holy Spirit the Garden – the Kingdom of God

The relationship with God starts at your birth He is always with you – beside you walking with you side by side. He is in you at Salvation and when He activates your Holy Spirit relationship He is upon you for effecting the Kingdom and affecting you this is a commissioning.

There has been an avid debate of being in-filled by the Holy Spirit. My personal journey was a two step programme – I got born again the Holy Spirit came in me, and then the Holy Spirit came upon me like the disciples in preparation for service. This is evidenced in the Bible.

Why you?

A long time ago, in eternity past, before even the World was created, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit sat down and had a conversation, and they called you and put your name in the Book of the Lamb. God knew that you would make Jesus your choice and He put your name down in the book of life and then sealed it. You are no surprise to God.

Romans 8:29-30 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brothers and sisters.

Ephesians: 1:11
God’’s intention is for you to be Kingdom girl with a Kingdom purpose and Matthew 6:33 will become a reality.

Your final destination

Romans 8:14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
